Cardboard Marty Posted May 14, 2023 (edited) (character art by @floressas_) Hey everybody, I'm Cardboard Marty! If you haven't seen me around before or are unfamiliar with my stuff, I am an artist, voice actor, and musician who has been around the community since 2003. You've probably seen my work in a variety of projects. In this thread, I'm providing sprites for weapons, enemies, sounds, and other resources for the community to use! Neat! (Click the logo above to download Volume 1 via Google Drive) These are some of my earliest weapon sprites, some are even among my first. The quality is all over the place, but they've found their way into a bunch of projects over the years. I encourage you to edit them to your heart's content! Each folder contains updated credits with transparent .PNG files. Note that some of these are not made with the DOOM palette in mind. (The Works Volume 1 Preview Image) Spoiler (Click the logo above to download Volume 2 via Google Drive) Volume 2 contains some of my more recent work and has been an ongoing project since 2009. This time around, I've got new enemy sprites, sounds, and hand templates in the mix! (The Works Volume 2 Preview Image) Spoiler As a note, a lot of these sprites are based upon the works of others, so please make sure to read the credits file for each download and credit all authors if you use them. Thanks! Edited May 23, 2023 by Cardboard Marty Now with preview images! 27 Quote Share this post Link to post
Cardboard Marty Posted May 18, 2023 (edited) It's been a while since I've released something NEW, so introducing...the JUPITER SMASHER! I created the base model by mashing up a bunch of weapon models found on DeviantArt and painting over them to make something cohesive. There really isn't anything left of the original models outside of the basic shape, and I'm really proud of how this came out! This is one of several weapons I created to get back into my groove and workflow. I didn't really have any idea what to do for additional animations or a reload, unfortunately. To compensate, I did something really fancy with the muzzle flash, but also created a more "standard" muzzle flash (could be good for an alt-fire)! I also included an alternate color version with a red muzzle flash. Cool! On a go-forward, I'll try to include .PSD files with these releases! In this one, for example, I've got an extended arm sprite I created that I ended up cropping out of the final frames. I'm really proud of some of the stuff I've been working on lately, let me know what you think! Edited May 18, 2023 by Cardboard Marty 11 Quote Share this post Link to post
ViolentBeetle Posted May 18, 2023 This looks great, but are all weapons in your pack angled and hang from the side of the screen (Not that there's anything wrong with that, obviously, but it won't work for me specifically, so there would be no point in browsing through if that's the case) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
