My car's wheel hubs just got stolen... for the second time!!!

 

Okay, sure it's my dad's 2005 Corolla, but I last drove it.  I just dropped my brother off at his work, drove back home, left the car on the driveway and came back 30-40 minutes later only to find the caps GONE!

 

The car already doesn't look good.  Even by 2005's standards it was pretty 'meh', but now it looks even worse😂

 

It's not like we even live in a dangerous area.  This just bugs the living hell out of me!

 

I feel like s***.

Damn that just sucks ass, surely some dude thought it would be funny if they stole wheel hubs to make people miserable.

Hope something happens, like reporting it to the police station, or something good in general.

Like, the actual wheel hub? If that's the case I would just be impressed that they managed to get them off without anyone noticing. Those things can take a good hour or more to get off even if you have the right tools. And I've replaced them before on a 2009 Corolla, and it took a few hours.

 

If it's just the hub caps, then I'm still surprised that anyone would steal those. I remember spinner caps and lighted caps being really popular in the 00's, but I thought those went out of style. Although my mother has a Toyota Camry and she lost one of her hubcaps. She wanted to replace it, but you have to buy a full set, and they're sitting pretty at around $55. And they take about four seconds to take off.

 

Actually, I'm not really surprised that people are stealing hub caps at this point. The profit margin is slimmer than catalytic convertors, but if you can make fifty five dollars for maybe 10 seconds of work, I can see that being a good business.

 

It still fucking sucks for the victims, and I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. I'm still pissed about someone smashing in my window and rifling around in my car only to find out that I had a tape deck and a bunch of cassette tapes back in 2003. I had to go to a junkyard and buy a new window and install it, it cost money and time. Thieves are some of the lowest scum on Earth.

That really sucks(: I really hope the hubcap isn't too hard to replace (assuming it doesn't somehow get retrieved later, that is, but you might need it sooner anyway)!

Just a guess, but you live in the UK right? Bored teenagers always seem to break anything nice that's put up, graffiti up little kids parks and steal pointless things. Lived in Canada for a good long while and was shocked by how much better they behaved there, don't really get why.

 

I remember my grandmother collected garden gnomes for years until kids stole them all, probably just smashed them up for "a laugh".

I rolled a tire down the backyard hill once.  Thought it would stop at the fence.  But the momentum caused it to jump the fence and almost hit these kids playing in the vacant lot (I half-heartedly said "Look out!").  Watched it roll downhill on the room for about 500m before it crashed into someones' hedge.  Dad admonished me for wasting a good tire, but he could easily have driven down there to get it back.  Too bad the only consumer digital cameras back then were only capable of 120p video:

From what i have learned in Life, People with such "Habits" do bring themself so often in Trouble, they literally do f*** up their Lifes by themselfs constantly.

 

Be it because he comes in Contact with Law, or because they come on Contact with Persons worse, or because they do break their Relationsships with Friend and Family.

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone.  Thankfully I managed to find a set for sale, locally.  They are Suzuki, but brand new and looks pretty alright.

 

I also opted to affix them to the steel wheels by way of two stainless steel ties per wheel.  It's not mags or anything fancy, but it will do for now.
