Vanilla DOOM/DOOM2 stages as Heretic stages [GZDOOM]

This is actually a mod I created in 2020, but I've never promoted it here.

 

It is a GZDoom mod for Heretic that will automatically convert any level that uses vanilla DOOM or DOOM2 assets into a Heretic style levels.

As a proof of concept here is DOOM2's map14, The Inmost Dens, being played through the mod:

 

 

What you are seeing is an unmodified DOOM2 wad being run through Heretic with my mod installed. The mod has its own set of textures and mapIDs for all of DOOM2's assets.

 

For further demonstrations here is the first levels of both DOOMs as well as a user made DOOM2 level being played through the mod:

 

 

 

 

Fun fact: one of the custom replacement textures that appears in MAP02 I created using a picture of my father's bathroom floor as a base :P

Preferably to create a separate texture pack. It perfect for medieval and fantasy themed gameplay mods.
