Yousuf Anik Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) I'm facing a problem on my Mystery 2 single map that I was working on. I've attached a zip file here that includes a demo that showing the problem and the WAD file. So you can easily load the demo and see what happens when I try to cross those pillars. It is as if I'm sliding or going through them and see glitches. Here are some screenshots. See? It is as if I'm seeing through them, it looks glitchy. And here it is, what it looks like when I zoom in Automap. I was creating the map in GZDoom Builder and tested the map in PrBoom-plus 2.5.1.4, on complevel 9. The same thing happens when I test the map in ZDoom latest build. For now, I'm stopping to create any further sectors on my map until this is solved. I have a lot to create and things to set up, so it's not at all ready for playing. There is not even anything here. I have never faced it before so I don't know what's causing this. So if anyone kind here if you can look at my map and help me solve this, I'd be really grateful. Thanks! mystery2-test.zip Edited May 25, 2023 by Yousuf Anik 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ramon.dexter Posted May 25, 2023 Rebuild map nodes or restructuralize the sectors around the pillars. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Yousuf Anik Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) I tried adding some sectors or moving some lines or vertices around that part but nothing seems to work. About rebuilding map nodes, do you mean this? I don't know about this so can you please explain what I should do here? Edited May 25, 2023 by Yousuf Anik 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
smeghammer Posted May 25, 2023 I just downloaded this - I see the clipping problem. I rebuilt the nodes (in Eureka, as that is what I use) and the problem went away. @ramon.dexter is right, it is the nodes rebuilding needed. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Yousuf Anik Posted May 25, 2023 @smeghammer I'm very glad to hear that you solved it. Could you please explain if I can do the same on GZDoom Builder or can you give me the file instead if that works? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
smeghammer Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) No probs. I'm guessing that the option @ramon.dexter gave above does the same thing. Anyhow, this should be the amended file: https://github.com/smeghammer/snippets/raw/master/mystery2-test.wad Suggest you try anyway in GZDB, with the original file - but back up first of course. This might help: https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Node_builder Edited May 25, 2023 by smeghammer 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Yousuf Anik Posted May 25, 2023 Thank you very much, the file you file gave is working fine :) So if I try this on GZDB, this comes and then what format should I select? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
smeghammer Posted May 25, 2023 (edited) TBH I am not certain which you should use. I'm guessing not UDMF though. The settings in Eureka are different: map format: Doom2, Vanilla,Doom format node builder settings: build GL nodes (yes), force V5 of GL nodes (no), force zdoom format of normal nodes (no) Not sure how that translates to the options above. >>> EDIT <<< Nice map BTW. Yousuf Anik Posted May 25, 2023 I see that's complicated to understand. For now, I will keep working on the file you provided and see if the problem arise again, I will let you know. Thank you all for all the help :) 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
