Anyone willing to recommend some DooM WADs?

I'm still new to DOOMWORLD (been around since 2019 but very, very, verrrry inactive) and my selection of WADs have been running dry. Need something to spice things up. Would love recommendations, please! :)

Also, the Doom 2 megawads called Epic and Epic 2 by Eternal.

"Recommend me some wads" without elaboration is like saying "recommend me some books" without elaboration. "I ran out of early 20th century modernist writers to read, recommend me Hunger Games or pop history about WW2 or the Civil War, please."

The Dean of Doom series covers a lot of great wads, and is how I got back into Doom in any semi-serious way a few years ago. I'm partial to the one about Speed of Doom. Recently I've enjoyed Autophagy and Paradise. If you want something tough and weird, check out Down the Drain.

Quick question about both EPIC wads. Do they both go off of the DOOM II Iwad and are they alright with freelook and/or other mods such as SmoothDoom? I understand that I CAN use freelook but I'd prefer to play the way the wad creator intended which could be no freelook

All the author seemed to specify was to disable jumping, so I think you’d be fine playing with freelook and smoothdoom. They both use Doom II IWAD.

Awesome, thank you for the help. I just tried looking myself as well, but I found the same. Will also be sure to check out Demonfear, after looking into it, it seems to be a big part of the DooM mapping community so I'm sure it'll be an interesting experience :)

Haha, I don't see why not. I enjoy playing WADs made by smaller doom mappers.
