PLUTORIUM :: 10 Map Test Episode :: Limit Removing Classic Style Plutonia Megawad(tm) [complevel 4]

PLUTORIUM is a planned megawad-length megawad designed around and for the PLUTONIA IWAD. Although I personally prefer Evilution by a good margin, Plutonia has such a unique theme and texture set that I wanted to play more around with it this time around, borrowing a lot of chaingunner-trap-gameplay-elements, y'know, for fun, combined with my own personal touches, I hope these maps turn out around the same or slightly higher levels of difficulty and detailing than the original IWAD counterpart, along with a lot of final doom teleport-bug fun! 

 

Plutonia, by some accounts, was released on May 31st of 1996 (or June 17 depending on region), which coincides with my day of birth (May 31st, 1996, so I prefer that release date for personal reasons, even if less accurate) and I wanted to work on a little something-something in this style, but didn't end up finishing before the day in question due to other things popping up. This current release (05/30/2023) contains only the first episode, maps 1 through 10, as I continue to work on the rest over the next chunk of time. Build time for episode 1 release is about 6 days. Please note that in between now and the final release, the first 10 maps will probably change a decent bit, so only play this if you really enjoy sneak peaks.

I haven't made progress on "I hate slaughter" and haven't been able to touch "Autophagy" yet, but this one definitely goes into the ever-growing list too :P

Since I really enjoyed A War On Christmas I played through this, i had a good time with it.

 

Though, I wasn't very much sold on the visuals, but if those were the kind of visuals you were going for (i would prob describe them as very shovelware-y if that makes sense) then you did a good job with them, they just weren't really my thing. The combat in this is pretty good even if i found it a bit easy (except for map08, i had some troubles with that one) but it's the first episode so, I expect this megawad to only get harder after these 10 maps.

 

Overall you're going in the right direction with this, imo. Good luck with completing this, I hope to see more of it.

I think map 2 is broken in nomo? I think a wall doesn't lower? It's also possible I could be dumb.
