mouse won't click after alt tabbing out of GZDoom

sometimes when I play GZDoom, I alt tab out of it and the mouse is still visible, can still move around, but cannot click in any way shape or form. Let it be left click, right click, hell! Even the middle mouse click won't work! So does anyone have a solution? I also have tried exiting fullscreen and alt tabbing and it still does the mouse glitch.

this happens sometimes too even after i alt f4 what i do is press ctrl alt delete then select ask manager and if i can try to end task gzdoom or just move around there and sometiems the mouse just starts working or just restart the computer

I get this issue sometimes too. I can clear it up if I can access the game menu. Sometimes I have to change something in the options, but sometimes just accessing the menu by itself, a quick in and out, solves the problem - I have no idea what actually causes the issue though, it being one or the other.

You need to pause the game first. Otherwise it'll think you're still trying to use the mouse to control the game, rather than any other application.
