WorldMachine Posted June 3, 2023 Was testing my mod in Chocolate DOOM, then BAM, error listed above, what does it mean and how could I potentially fix it? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 6, 2023 (edited) So... it's fixed. All it really took was identifying if the wad was corrupt or not, which it wasn't, and installing the latest LATEST version of Chocolate DOOM. All of it was resolved here Hopefully there are no further issues with this in the future, sorry for being a nuisance. Thanks for everyone who helped with this Case (hopefully) closed! 0 Foxpup Posted June 4, 2023 To work in vanilla, custom flats need to go between FF_START (not F_START) and F_END. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 I have no custom flats tho... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 Foxpup Posted June 4, 2023 I've never seen this error result from anything other than a bad flat list, so... what do you have? Any custom graphics at all? A new map? Information about what you were trying to do before the error first occurred? A list of what other ports you've tested with and which of those (if any) work without errors? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 (edited) I only have custom monster sprites and weapon sprites. As for textures, only 1 wall replacement and I replaced all the switch textures. Edited June 4, 2023 by WorldMachine 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 Also I tried running normal DOOM II and got the same error with different numbers 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 I have hud sfx, replaced some of the decoration's sprites, replaced sky textures, replaced the titlepic, and put in a new color pallete aswell. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

If Chocolate Doom can't run the unmodified game, your copy of DOOM2.WAD is corrupt. Were you attempting to modify the original game files? You shouldn't do that. In any case, you will need to reinstall the game before you can do anything else. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 I haven't modified DOOM2.wad (atleast I don't think) DOOM2.WAD runs fine in other source ports but not chocolate 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 I'll get a replacement though 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 So I replaced the iwads, still got the same exact error in the same exact place 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Can you provide a screenshot of your WAD in Slade? Are you running your mod as an IWAD instead of a PWAD? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
0 WorldMachine Posted June 4, 2023 It should be running as a pwad 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
