Individualised Posted June 10, 2023 (edited) It's well known that they licenced out the Doom engine for Chex Quest, but the game contains a lot of Ultimate Doom levels that are unused, so much so that they make up the majority of the game. Surely they would have only had the licence to use the engine right? I doubt id would have been happy back then if they found out they were distributing what is essentially a retail Doom IWAD. Why would they have done that anyway instead of basing their IWAD on the shareware IWAD, or you know, actually taking the type to make sure they're not distributing Doom game data? Dreemurr Deceevurr Posted June 10, 2023 100% Digital Cafe simply forgot to clean the WAD of leftover Ultimate Doom assets. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
SiFi270 Posted June 10, 2023 What I want to know is, is it all still there in the version distributed by Limited Run Games? Quote then i guess you should have bought it when you had the chance I guess I should have. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Devalaous Posted June 10, 2023 Those levels are utterly unplayable as the unreplaced monsters all have blank graphics iirc and the textures are pure chaos. Nothing like a glitchy Tower of Babel with an invisible cyberdemon to ruin your day. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
