How can I import data from WhackEd to Slade

cactusman

Question

Hello. I am currently used WhackEd 4, Slade, and UDB to create a doom wad for GZDoom. My problem is that I cannot figure out how to import my data from WhackEd to Slade so I can playtest my data. I was making adjustments to the sound files for the Imp to make different sfx play but I am currently stumped. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Import the DEH file that whacked4 generated and rename it "DEHACKED"

How:

No, search files that end with .DEH and you rename it like this: DEHACKED.DEH

Sorry for the late response

When you say rename it "DEHACKED", do you mean rename the type from .whacked to .dewhacked or somthing else? Because I do not see the changes in game.

So the game does not still show my changes, here is the current section of the wad with the dehacked file. Is there a reason why it is still failing to load in game? image.png.e5a7db2609b44822afbb3a125964eb8b.png

My only guess is that the setting for loading DeHackEd files in GZDoom is set to not do so. Go to Miscellaneous Options in the GZDoom options menu and look for "Load .deh/.bex files" - if it's set to "Never", then we know that's the problem.
