DOS DOOM question

How do I set my weapon key bindings in DOS DOOM?

 

I'm using DOSBOX and using the vanilla executables that @Doomkid once provided.

 

It really sucks having to use the number keys to switch weapons and using the mouse wheel doesn't seem to work. What do I do?

Vanilla DOOM does not support changing the keys to select weapons.

I also love to play in DOSBOX and I wanted such thing too but sadly, what andrewj is saying is correct. Not sure though I think the one closer to DOSBOX is Chocolate Doom (or maybe CNDoom/Crispy Doom) and it might has such options so you can try it if you like.

Yeah there's no way to do that in DosDoom as others have said, however I seem to vaguely recall you can monkey around with keys in DOSBox itself?
