Lerain Posted June 12, 2023 Greetings, I was going through my old files and found a folder with three DOOM launchers combined with a lot of maps and mods. 1. Doom Brutalizer: Starter Pack (with Launcher) - I believe that one is well known. Quite a decent pack. 2. Doomsday Engine - it seems I have wrapped this engine with all of the supported official wad files so it makes quite the tidy collection with a pretty front-end. 3. 20 GB "Doom Mod Collection" pack from unknown source - it has a CMD (DOS) launcher (using a bat file) that will be visualized as follows : The version of GZDoom is 4.7.1 which was released around the end of 2021. I have to recollection from where exactly I got this pack. It's 20 GB and seems very well organized with separate config files for each mod and so on. I think it was from reddit and then some private google drive space but who knows. Now with the Doom subreddit being on a protest for the new Reddit changes (API and such), cant actually open any threads there. So I have two questions: 1. Do you know the original creator of this pack and can you give me some information/links ? 2. If this is rare and unavailable elsewhere, I can upload it somewhere and share it with this community. If that's allowed of course, not sure what are the rules about sharing modpacks here. Not really a question it seems, but if it's alright to share and you want it - please say so in the comments so I can see where to put 20 GB on a cloud drive. Gratitude and cheers 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
stevegohome Posted June 12, 2023 This is cool and I would love to have access to it, as for where to upload it you should be able to upload it on archive.org and link that. We do it with doom shovelware disks like maximum doom and d!zone all the time. Cheers mate. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lerain Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) So I've tried archive.org overnight but sadly - no result. I've made a 20 GB ISO file of the whole thing since it will be easier to upload. Also one can just mount the ISO and play without changing it. Or it can be extracted and played with changes (settings, saves, etc). However, for over 13 hours I've managed to upload only 4.5GB of those 20GB to archive.org and the whole thing seemed stuck this morning. I've tried to refresh the upload and that was the end of it. I have a very good internet so either archive.org is having some sort of problems with it's data transfer or no idea. Any other suggestions where I can upload 20GB file (19.4 GB to be precise) ? Thank you P.S. I found a website that will store the file for 2 days (myairbridge). Here is the link : https://mab.to/t/HEIPDxbBdCd/eu1 (DEAD NOW) Edited December 9, 2023 by Lerain 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) I'd guess it's this post from Reddit (here's a Google cache link), or perhaps a later update of it since the GZDoom version here is too new for that post. All the links there are dead though, so who knows. Edited June 13, 2023 by Shepardus 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Lerain Posted June 14, 2023 (edited) Greetings again, The MyAirBridge link is dead for a while now, but I've found a very proper place to host the pack via torrent. Check the next comment. Edited December 6, 2023 by Lerain 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
