You can call it that or ''trying to be fespectful and waiting for a member to finish his map, also because we don't have enough''. Yes, the map has been way too many months under development and the project has been delayed a lot, but meanwhile I've been working on some hub maps as in equinox, I've been adding stuff to all my maps, I've been working on a common story so it doesn't feel like just a collection of random maps, etc. So most of that time hasn't been wasted. Honestly I'd rather wait more months than to release a boring and monotonous project that people will forget in a couple of weeks.

And don't worry, I have many unfinished projects unrelated to doom too, but that's probably because I'm just a random ADHD average human with way too much creativity and free time in my hands, not because God or the devil or whoever has put me under a curse (and if they have they should try better, because I think I've had a pretty decent life)

And if one of the projects in which you worked for isn't active anymore, perhaps YOU can make the difference. Ask if you can help doing some playtesting, making graphics, making another submission or maybe even choosing the maps order, anything that could help and make the project be finished faster.

It's certainly just a coincidence, that's just how community projects go sometimes. The first one I signed up for is still in development and has been for so long that I'm remaking my submission because I've gotten much better at mapping since when I made it. I know the thread for Finer Doom has been mostly dormant for a while, so maybe ask about the status on that and how everyone's doing.

One of the community projects marked as dead there has active recent posts, just is moving along slowly, which happens. Seems like that one will be out eventually.

If I cared about stuff getting out the door, I wouldn't join a TNT project community project where the recruitment thread leads off, in its very first lines,

Even if you want to work with people your age, you should be able to find better choices, because that one is full of red flags.

Games and comics and YT series are projects with large scope. It makes sense to have a lot of ideas and designs and fragments for those and maybe only a small % of those that get across the finish line. That doesn't mean they failed -- that's just how testing the waters works. If a big project is further along than that you can salvage parts of it as their own smaller projects.

Try contacting the leaders of these projects, or look around their development outlets (Discord, threads). If you garner enough clues that those projects won't be active any time soon, best to salvage your works and release them standalone. Or wait if you are optimistic - people have real life things to do, and CPs taking years to complete is actually not quite rare.

Hmm.. Have you tried bumping the projects' threads with useful info in hopes of reviving them?

You're all right, I have to act. I have to act in order to not be bound by it and erase it all. Slowly let the creativity die and seek all that is important above all.

I deleted it all. No trance of any of the works in here. This is not a breakdown, I have had enough of the unorganised fools who can't finish what they started. I have had enough to spend the hours on something for it to lead to nothing. But it's not their fault. This is all it takes, a couple of failed attemps and the constantly increasing stress and worry of every day to turn yourself into a clown and display the scene all over the internet. This is not the end, I will come back and pretend noting ever happened like the cockroach of a being that I came to be. You are all to blame for this but it is entierly my fault. It will happen again.

I don't think they wanted you to delete the maps you contributed to those projects.

I think you are over-reacting. By deleting your maps you just slowed the development down even more. Yeah, i know it must suck when a project you contributed to seems dormant but removing your map instead of helping with the project is not really respectable. Community projects are large work and can take years to complete (Just look at how long "Ultimate Doom in name only" is taking).

It is common for things you do in life to not have any outcome, but going out of your way to remove any trace of your work and giving up on creativity just because a project is not going perfectly isn't it chief.

Sometimes stuff goes slow, and rash action can just ruin stuff, if these projects are truly dead, then you could probably do a flotsam thing and just release the maps in a single compilation. Instead of deleting the maps. Maps going out means your more around.

Why don’t you go back to one of your maps in one or more of these projects and tinker with it, improve it potentially and use those edits to provide a valid reason for bumping the thread. Some projects go slowly, that is the nature of a hobby where the people who do it come from all the corners of the globe and are trying to fit this around the rest of their daily lives. Delays happen, that is life unfortunately.

This is not just about doom maps. The stress, frustration and self loathig build up too much again and I took it all out and acted without having control over my mind on the first person who pissed me off. In this case not a person but an entire community.

I could say "Well if I sacrificed my free time and stayed over night to finish it until the deadline the can take some sacrifice too" but that's stupid and I see it. I see that my original post is stupid and me earasing everything is too. But I am just tired of this whole idiotic creative bullshit. It has caused nothing but conflicts, shame, anger and all sorts of negative emotion for absolutely fucking nothing.

It doesn't make any difference if my map is there or not. It doesn't make any damn difference if any of those CPs get released or not. The world spins the same way and I go on to live the same monotonous existence as I did until now. I have to put an end to all of this and if it means burning it all slowly in these fits of rage caused by the lack of joy in the daily life so be it. This was stupid of me I know. But it's probably for the best.

Unfortunately that's just how dw community projects work. It is entirely possible to spot (and don't join) the projects that are likely to end up like that, but you need experience for that which you obviously didn't have.

Just make your own releases.

Not sure though if you are able to make them now, seems like you are losing it.

Mapping shouldn't be stressful, it's pure creativity. When mapping feels like work then it's okay to take a break. Have some coffee y'know?

You know what no, I am done with this. I will ask the amdins/mods to delete the account or make them permanetly remove me from here so there is no trace I ever was a part of any of this.

Delays happen, it doesn't mean you're cursed and you certainly shouldn't try to unperson yourself from the community because of those delays. Please stop stressing yourself out. This is genuinely concerning.

Maybe working in a collab isn't for you if you're prone to blaming others like this, and get so upset when others don't show the same devotion. CPs fall apart all the time and people often overcommit at the start or have things come up where they can't easily fulfill their obligations. It's frustrating but mapping is a hobby and not life and death. Many times people will struggle to lay the groundwork in spite of having an idea of what their map should be, and often they'll feel self conscious about their creations to where they can't make progress. You're allowed to release your finished maps and pull them out of the project if you must, but it's a selfish move unless the project is truly dead. It's not like good maps have an expiration date; you could wait 10 years and they'd be just as viable so the only reason you want to release them now is your own sense of gratification.

Also you shouldn't look at these projects to be "my time to shine", it's more likely to be successful as just a fun project discord that people enjoy being a part of than attempting to win a Cacoward. If you're taking the project that much more seriously than the other mappers, then it's a sign that you should make your projects solo rather than try to demand the same effort from others.

It helps if you only join projects led by veterans with a track record, and those which have a firm goal/deadline. But if you're gonna shit on everyone involved when the project doesn't happen, and delete your own work out of spite, that's pretty self destructive and petty honestly. Instead of being dramatic and trying to sabotage them, maybe try and reach out and contribute in other ways; usually these projects are overly ambitious and need leadership more than they need a bunch of individual maps. If they just need a boot to get out the door, then maybe it's time to cut the roster from 32 to 19 maps or something just to have some kind of completed release. If people are just taking a long time then you've got to be patient and deal with it.

I said already this is not just about these stupid unreliable doom CPs. This whole dumbass situation applies to every singe creative thing and I will stop it myself. I will make sure it never happened and will not happen again one way or another.

I've just about had it with this whole creative dumbass bullshit fucking up every time and making me so god damn misserable.

You don't know me, you don't know what I did, you don't know what happens. You do not know in the slightest if I am over reacting. I am. But it is the right thing to stop it.

Doom mapping shouldn't control your every day life. If forum banter is determining the outcome of your day, and potentially ruining your life then you should probably think about how you got yourself into this mindset. I recommend looking at the events in a sort of "third-person" view, just to mull over the events. I did this recently, and it helps a lot.

Yeah, no.

The impression is that you just want to get attention. That doesn't mean you're not suffering some kind of emotional blow, but the best thing you can do is turn off the PC, forget the cell phone and socialize with people around you. The internet is sometimes poison for the mind. Humans are not prepared for it.
In fact I would say that, although they are not going to do it, they would really do you a favor by deleting your account.
