Toa_Krakama Posted June 19, 2023 I just downloaded Doom 64 CE, and I'm enjoying everything it adds to the game, but I can't seem to get it start when using ZDL to launch it, which I want to do so that I can easily load custom HUDs and mugshots with it. The problem I'm running into is with the actual DOOM64.WAD, cuz the CE patcher doesn't patch it unless I'm using the copy of GZDoom it's packaged with. Screenshot is of the one error that's preventing me from launching through ZDL. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted June 19, 2023 What do you mean by "the CE patcher doesn't patch it unless I'm using the copy of GZDoom it's packaged with"? Patching the WAD is a separate step from actually running it. You can run the patcher and move the files it generates into your own GZDoom installation. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

You're talking about the .IWAD file it creates, right? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
PhoxFyre007 Posted June 19, 2023 You do not launch the doom64.wad, that patched wad is a resource wad the actual launch area DOOM64.CE.ipk3, which is an internal pk3 file that works as a more advanced iwad file. Replace the DOOM64.WAD area in your ZDL with DOOM64.CE.ipk3. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted June 19, 2023 I got it to work in ZDL by setting the IWAD to DOOM64.IWAD and adding DOOM64.CE.ipk3 as a file, along with any addons you want. I don't know why it works that way, since as PhoxFyre said, when you launch GZDoom by itself and you use its launcher, DOOM64.CE.ipk3 is the one you're supposed to select. Make sure you also copy DOOM64.SF2 from the soundfonts folder to the soundfonts folder of your GZDoom installation, or somewhere in the soundfont search path set in your GZDoom config. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
