QuaketallicA Posted June 22, 2023 I know Doomers are usually more old school 90s shooter enthusiasts, but for those of you who also partake in more modern shooters, there's a new free to play game coming out from Ubisoft called "XDefiant" which is pretty much a Call of Duty clone. The open beta is going on right now. If any of you have played it, what are your thoughts so far? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
D4NUK1 Posted June 22, 2023 It's a cool movement Shooter. Pretty much want to play with some friends with the nostalgia of being somewhat alike Black Ops 2 or Modern Warfare 2-3. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
innerethos Posted June 22, 2023 Ubisoft is infamous for network connectivity issues related to their Ubisoft Connect platform, notably with regards to Rainbow Six: Siege. Nothing has changed. I tried for two hours to play and was only able to successfully connect to a single match. I prefer to play my games, not wait for them to play with me. Which is a shame, because Ubisoft makes great games. If only their networks wanted me to play them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Murdoch Posted June 22, 2023 My thoughts are "lost me at call of duty clone". 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
FecalMystAche Posted June 22, 2023 (edited) After what bübisoft did to Rainbow Six I find it hard to care about anything they come up with since then. It looks OK, but it’s like pretty much any other COD clone. It’ll be played for a bit until the next COD clone is released and it will then be forgotten. Mr Masker Posted June 22, 2023 Ubisoft game? Where's the high, climbable towers that add markers to my map? Where's the 100 meaningless collectables? THIS IS NO UBISOFT GAME OF MINE!!!! At least they still have the pandering dead franchise cameos. Thank you Mr John Ubisoft! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

But this is a beta, not a full-release after all, so issues like this are exactly what they're trying to discover and iron out ahead of time. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Far Cry 5 does away with climbing the towers, you instead rescue people and they give you new locations on the map. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The one round I played felt okay for a Call of Duty clone. Already more fun than it and many other modern competitive shooters. Reeeaaally wish that the distribution platform would let me play it more than one match at a time before refusing to load the next match (stuck loading at 9%, which appears to be a common issue). Maybe I'll look at it more when it's launched. Since you've played it more than me, what are your thoughts about the game? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
