What is your favorite doom episode?

I like all 5 of them (yes I count Sigil) my favorite is probably Shores of Hell or Inferno had a blast with those might also be that I like to make hell levels more than Base levels.

Probably Shores of Hell. The whole episode just has this unsettling atmosphere and is the only set of classic Doom maps to make me feel uneasy today. While I do prefer the gameplay of E3 and 4, that distinct sensation is enough for me to put it ahead.

Shores of hell. Great level design that builds tension and keeps you guessing whats coming next. And you just cant beat that aesthetic.

Knee-deep in the Dead, followed by Sigil. Mostly due to its aesthetics which I believe Episode 2 and 3 lacked . . .

It really depends, Knee Deep in the Dead is amazing and iconic, it's what I think of when I think of Doom, but my favorite (official episode) has to be Inferno. It has some great levels like Limbo, Pandemonium, House of Pain, and Hells Keep and I just personally love the look and feel of it. I would however say that Sigil is probably my favorite if that counts, the level design and OST are amazing and all the little gimmicks the maps have are great (as well as fantastic use of cyber-demoms)

Doom 1 is a very good game in terms of level design, though it is also highly depends on the map, some of them I don't like, but in general, in comparison between Doom 1 and Doom 2 - first game wins, to my opinion.

shores of hell is my favorite, i just have so much fun with it, i feel a little bit scared but also comfortable, and i also love inferno because it's scarier and crazier (of course knee-deep in the dead is a lot of fun for me too, thy flesh consumed a little bit less but i still like it)

Knee deep cuz i love techbases, and overall it's just so good man, it's so damn good that make the subsequent episodes (which are NOT bad) feel "weaker"

Knee deep in the dead. I fucking HATE thy flesh consumed, e2 and e3 despite being weaker than e1, still has maps that are worthwhile.
