mhrz Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) Yo, this is a segmented UV-Speed D2ALL of Haste done by multiple runners, where each map is ran by one player without the use of TAS tools (no slow-motion, rewind, segmenting..). There's segmentation only at the start of each map, then the map is recorded just like an IL demo (multiple attempts, no tools)  I would like to thank all of the players for participating including: @4shockblast @Rayziik @Gosu_Noob @Billa @kvothesixstring @BFGandorf @kmc @Vile @Dan87 @Jizzwardo @Ravendesk @PrBoomerJuice @Starduster  Also a big thank you to @Meowgi for sorta pushing me to organize this thing after I proposed the idea, as well as Dan for viddumping and uploading the video.  Youtube: https://youtu.be/tL6hYdZbopc Demo: hasALLx2339.zip Edited July 15, 2023 by mhrz 31 Quote Share this post Link to post
El Juancho Posted July 15, 2023 I hope the speedrun community does more collective projects, this is pretty cool :) 7 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted July 15, 2023 I'm a fan of the Quake Done Quick series, so this is a real treat! How does the segmenting work? Does each player receive a keyframe from the previous player, or does each player run their level independently and then the demos are somehow stitched together at the end? 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Meowgi Posted July 15, 2023 Congrats again to everyone who ran for this. Really cool project/concept, and the end result turned out beautifully! 6 Quote Share this post Link to post

The first runner posts the demo, then the next one continues from it. Saving frames is not even really needed, you can simply use "-recordfromto" option and then join the demo on the intermission screen to get in control from that point on. So we couldn't work on runs independently, but had to pass the demo over for each next map. Basically it's like one continuous run, so the health and ammo are preserved between the maps and we had to account for that a few times (for example, map 09 end is quite rough and then map 10 is an avj and then map 11 also starts with avj, so the health margin was quite tight in that part, and you also don't want death exits). slowfade Posted July 20, 2023 Cool project! The first time I've seen this kind of demo for Doom. Good to see another wad that felt impossible to me totally humiliated. 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
