Zdaemon and Skins

I've been having some trouble with using skins on internet games. Ok so I've got the "skins" folder in my zdaemon directory with all the skins inside, I've got a particular skin selected in the "player options," and my friend has done the same. How come we still can't see each others skin? When I die, the bodies on the ground display the skin, so I know it works, but for some reason I can't see the opponents skin. Please help! What step have I forgotten?

It has to be enabled server side and for the most part it never is. Contact the server admin or run your own :(
