Zandronum Kill Rewards - a utility(?) mod made for Zandronum

 

As the title would imply, Zandronum Kill Rewards is a utility mod made specifically for zandronum that makes it so that monsters (and players, too) drop kill rewards upon dying. Regular enemies will usually drop small or medium kill rewards while boss monsters will usually drop big or enormous kill rewards. It's also worth nothing that for mot compatability's sake, each kill reward "spills" out it's respective ammo and pickups as soon as you pick it up, for lack of a better word. This way, you 1: don't waste ammo if you pick up a kill reward when your reserves are mostly full and 2: the mod keeps full compatability with anything that may use custom ammo in any way. Additional credits are in the .pk3 file.

Changelog:

  • - Kill reward system overhauled; now the scaling for reward drops is more dynamic and it's not as simple as having 2 separate spawn
  • groups based on if something has the +BOSS flag or not
  • - Added in a server-side CVAR (zandrokrewards_power) that allows kill rewards to drop weapons ala Samsara's pinata mode if set to 1
  • - Big kill reward now drops three rocket boxes instead of one rocket ammo with 30 units worth of ammo, for the sake of better mod compatibility
  • - Medium kill rewards are rarer
  • - Kill rewards don't clog your console up anymore
  • - Probably some other things i forgot over this update's half-year long development

  • Changes: The modified health bonuses dropped by the medium kill reward now no longer have the +INVENTORY.ALWAYSPICKUP flag, meaning that you won't waste any of them if you pick up a medium kill reward while on full overheal health. In addition, the medium, big, and massive kill rewards have all been changed to drop multiple rocket ammo pickups rather than one single pickup that gives you lots of ammo. The pickup messages for some of the things in the mod have also been changed.
