Why can't anybody join my chocolate doom server?

Every time I set up a chocolate doom server, my friend can't join. Instead, it says, "Waiting on player start"

But if I start the server in crispy doom, it works perfectly fine!

If anybody knows a fix, it would be very much appreciated!

Does your friend have Choco allowed in their firewall on all types of networks?
