Bobi Posted July 29, 2023 Could anyone suggest a doom map from which I could learn how to make my own map textures work together and look nice. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chris Hansen Posted July 29, 2023 It’s much easier to do yourself. Just pick any of the thousands of wads you find interesting and study it. They are free and the download takes seconds. It took me longer to write this on my phone. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
RataUnderground Posted July 29, 2023 I can't answer your question but I can give you two pieces of advice. The first one, that the textures that you use are composed so that they are aligned in heights of 8, 16, 32, 48, 64 and 128 px, this way it will be much easier for you to match them with each other. My second tip is to make them repeat each other cleanly and without edges between them, or draw them with defined edges as if they were tiles. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
Chris Hansen Posted July 29, 2023 Ohh, so you’ve made your own textures. I guess I misunderstood you a bit then. Rata’s answer is pretty spot on actually. There’s a system to it and you can definitely use his advice. But again, try downloading a texture pack and study it closely. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
