Doom girls with long nails, how do you play/code?

I saw Danielle Bergolis' nails and was like "Damn, she could be as bad as an imp up close".  People with longer nails, do you press with the tips of the fingers to avoid nail contact?

Mine are long but have never been as long as hers. You just hold your hand a bit flatter over the keyboard and type more with the flat part of your fingers, instead of curling your fingers up and typing with the absolute end of them. Though with nails as long as the ones in these images, I'd imagine you can't angle the tip of your finger much at all.

as a person who likes to have ~0.6cm pointy murderclaws (currently without them bc one of my fingers is messed up), yeah i would just rest my hand flat on the keyboard and type with like. the fingerprint bit of my fingers if you get what i mean

Once at summer camp during event signup I saw there was an event called “Nails”. I was the kind of kid who never asked questions or read the room (as opposed to now where I’m an adult who does that), so I signed up, assuming I’d get to hammer nails into things or something like that. Days later when the event came, I showed up looking for hammers and wooden planks and stuff and instead, to my surprise, saw four or five girls seated around with some nail polish. I shrugged and painted my nails and then had fun sparkly nails for the rest of summer camp. They were probably kind of long because I never trim them often enough.

 

I wouldn’t normally derail like this but to be fair this thread is kind of asking for it so 💅

For real though, I do keep my nails a bit shorter in part because it's easier to play that way. Alternatively, I guess there are always false nails you wear and can take off when its time to play Doom.

Hey I managed to secretly record my girlfriend (she's from Canada, you don't know her) while she was polishing up her resumé. I believe this is the only existing footage of a woman with long nails using a keyboard. @invictius buddy, don't tell her I did this, I really put my neck on the line for you by obtaining this video. I guess you have your answer:

Simple honey, they're retractable. See, all women are born with long nails and once we're around 4 years old or so, we can pull them in and out whenever we wish. It's so handy!

Bite them off. Don’t even use a nail clipper. That will force you to get up from your chair. And if there is a nail clipper at the table—impossible. Our family rule is is to store small items such as nail clippers, loose change, tv remotes, car keys, and fossilized cheetoes in each of the miniature black holes situated between each couch seat. Keep your rear firmly planted in the gaming chair (or rather plastic folding chair) you grew roots through, use your teeth, and keep playing.
