Terrcraft Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) Some more info https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/quake-ii/9p7l9h478ggv?rtc=1 trailer goes kinda hard ngl Edited August 10, 2023 by Terrcraft trailer link removed dupe image 6 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 And the game looks so god damn gorgeous! The enhanced cinematics looks way too crisp, but it'll grow over me. "Call Of The Machine"? EVEN BETTER! The enhanced colored lighting must be for QII64, as the main PC game still had it, but it was more weaker. Improved and restored AI? I mean that's really cool, but I hope that's a toggleable option, else forget about demos. Enhanced models? Gotta check that out. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 IT'S OUT ON GOG NOW! BETHESDA HEARD MY PRAYERS! Okay I'm gonna install the game while I... kiss Todd Howard in the shoe. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midnight_00 Posted August 10, 2023 Nice. Little desire to replay the original game at the moment, but I'll definitely play the new episode right away. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Terrcraft Posted August 10, 2023 Lots of cut content, i think there is also a beta campain as well. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) Nevermind, the game hasn't popped out yet, but the store page got updated, along with the art for the 'Original' version of the game (QUAD DAMAGE!!!) On GOG. Edited August 10, 2023 by Midway64 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 They announced it, they just did it on livestream. Already saw the trailer via Microsoft Store. It's really goddamn badass. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
D4NUK1 Posted August 10, 2023 Oh Yeah, this is also waaay better than the Quake Remastered, The Devs always improve they work in this Remastering Ports!! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 Okay I can see people on the chat starting to unconditionally love Quake II (and Marty)... Good job NightDive! 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 And I see other weirdos on chat hating on the remaster "because we want Quak V!!11 not Quaker 2 with texture mod1!!!1/1!!" My brother in christ, this is some good food, we got more than we could ask. Thank NightDive you assholes. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

scalliano Posted August 10, 2023 Coming right out of the gate with the N64 menu music - excellent. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
spineapple tea Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) Damn, now I can play Quake II without having to download all the music from some other source? Great shit right there, that's worth price of admission. Hope they do a remaster for Quake III. Edited August 10, 2023 by spineapple tea 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 Also they are offering some content for Doom Eternal. https://freebundle.bethesda.net/ Already claimed it, but I don't own Eternal. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 GOG's making me wait. I CANT BEAR IT! I HAVE TO HEAR THE PHRASE! "Objective Updated"... Or is it "Computer Updated"? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Individualised Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) I knew it was coming for ages and I'm still excited oh my god. And I haven't even properly seen it yet and it's GOOD. Does it have remastered FMVs? I'm watching the trailer and it looks like it's there Edited August 10, 2023 by Individualised 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheShep Posted August 10, 2023 Hot stuff. I always liked some Q2. I'll have to peep this one. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 (edited) Well NightDive wouldn't really misinform people... So there's no reason to hide it only in the trailer. The crisp FMVs already grew on me. @Individualised Edited August 10, 2023 by Midway64 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

I had actually set my Yamagi up to look as close as possible UI-wise to what I thought the remaster would look like. Looks like I was far off though. Rudolph Posted August 10, 2023 No Playstation Quake II? Bummer. Still hyped about Quake II 64 on PC and that Call of the Machine expansion! I wonder what the AI behavior improvements are going to be, though. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 Excluding Blood Fresh Supply because that's more of Atari's fault for not updating it that is. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TheShep Posted August 10, 2023 It seems like it might be bundled with Quake II on Steam if you bought that in the past. I have a 5.2 GB download so perhaps this is true. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Midway64 Posted August 10, 2023 Just now, Rudolph said: No Playstation Quake II? Bummer. Still hyped about Quake II 64 on PC and that Call of the Machine expansion! I wonder what the AI behavior improvements are going to be, though. Playstation Quake II is a butchered down mix of the PC campaigns, including the tutorial Quake II N64 map, so there's really no point. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
