Griffonki Posted August 12, 2023 I play GZDoom on hardware rendering, I tried truecolor software and doom classic thingy and I admit, it looks better but it makes looking up and down streches and twists the screen in a really jarring way and gives me a headache, is that how it works (not supporting looking up and down) or did I mess something up? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
esselfortium Posted August 12, 2023 That’s how it works. Doom renderer isn’t capable of perspective-correct freelook. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
indigotyrian Posted August 12, 2023 This is due to how the software renderer draws the scene. For more info check this out: https://zdoom.org/wiki/Y-shearing 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Sesamia Posted August 12, 2023 I've previously used the following guide to make hardware rendering look more like software rendering in GZDoom. It might be useful for you too. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Thanks lads, I'll stick to hardware rendering then with I think doom legacy filter or whatever it's called so dark areas stay dark, works well with beautiful doom, hope that's ok. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
