Weapon sprite rotations and scaling

I'm currently working on a few weapons, and i have seen more than a few quality products make use of "A_OverlayOffset, A_OverlayRotate, and A_OverlayScale" However the process of figuring out the specific numbers needed to make these work nicely is something I cannot seem to follow.
The closest I have gotten to sorting this out is attached to the 2020 thread { https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=70052 }.

Would someone be able to help me with making animations a bit more smooth?
