Episode SubMenus

Hello,

Is it possible to add episodes in submenus?

I'm creating a .pk3 compilation. With official and community .wads.

I would like my menu to work like this:

> New Game

   > Official Episodes

      > E1M1

      > E2M1

      > ect....

   > Community Episodes

      > Custom Episode 1

      > Custom Episode 2

      > ect....

 

Is this possible?

As far as I know, you can't. But given that you're focusing on ZDoom-compatible ports, you could make a hub start map, like how it was in Quake 1. And make certain things selectable by, for example, having the player go to the right portal on the map. Theoretically you can make as many sub-levels of choice as you want and maybe somehow thematically and beautifully furnish the hub map itself if you have some creativity.

What's more, you don't even have to sit with ZMAPINFO, prescribing clusters etc. in it. All you have to do is for each teleport that should send you to the desired level/episode, hinge a ACS script launch that will launch another map.
