Caustic City

Hello! This is another unfinished map I had on my computer, that I actually finished. This was for a (now canceled) project from a friend. I didn't rush in and only added an exit, but I expanded on the map ALOT. Spent the past week on this, hope you enjoy!

And this time it's in the right category!

Lots of nice stuff happening here! Monster placement and flow were probably just a little haphazard. But there's a decent amount here of differing areas, like the STARTAN hall appearing out of nowhere which is probably as welcome as D_RUNNIN adds some decent variety. Or the ship thing in the center with the blue key that we had a difficult time finding because the pathfinding was questionable.

Also, the map should work on -complevel 2 as well. I playtested it a few times while Fox was developing it and it worked with no errors last time I did, so it should be fine. Don't think it's vanilla compatible though, probably a lot of VPOs/DSOs

Thanks!!! I never really know how to make encounters, especially in open maps that AREN'T UDMF, so I'm hopping to improve on that. Also the flow and path findings off cause its more of an open map. Like there's multiple routes, not linear so it was kind of hard trying to balance that!

really liked the map when i played it myself, even though i played through it horribly. was pretty fun either way, hopefully you can get more attention on this release

BTW - you should probably edit the thread and mention it's limit-removing because it does VPO in most areas in Chocolate Doom

Hello there. I finally decided to play to this wad. And it was pretty good ! I had a good time on it. 

 

Well, there were some misaligned textures and the map was a bit maz-y (should we say that's a-mazy-ng ?) for me. But to be honest, it's a pretty good map ! Nice stuff ! ;)
