DOOM 3 high-res poster. Suitable for print.

Hello,

I'm in a process of printing a poster for every single game in the series. However, I have ran into a problem with Doom 3 being that there really isn't a high-res poster anywhere on the internet.

So I took the matters into my own hands and tasked myself with recreating the poster from scratch.

I downloaded various versions of the famous Hell Knight posing in the background with the DOOM 3 title in the front.

 

I have somehow managed to make the upper half of the poster, although it is a bit empty, but I am now struggling with the bottom half. There are supposed to be the legs, but they are not on any of the posters. This is where they always cut off.

 

So, option number one is to crop the poster into the original size and just be done with it there.

Option number two is to somehow recreate the legs or just put something over them. But I just can't come up with anything...

So this ended before any conversation could actually start, lol.

 

I originally wanted to make a brand new poster using the original elements, but that proved to be quite the challenge, so I pivoted to two other versions.

 

Version number 1 (300ppi, A2 resolution - 420 × 594 mm)

This poster is inspired by the original DOOM and DOOM 2 posters with the golden frame and black borders.

I have taken a wide, high res picture of the Hell Knight and used that as the base. This picture was however missing the top of his head, so I found another, low-res but usable, picture of the Hell Knight and took it from there. Then I made the black and red background and put in the, well, background. Oh, and I used an AI upscaler to make all the images i found online crispier and bigger.

 

Version number 2 (300ppi, A2 resolution - 420 × 594 mm)

This is the DOOM 3 poster we all remember. Not much to say as it is based on the same work I did on the version 1. You can find this all over the internet, but again, it's all low-res and not usable for print. I didn't put in all the original logos, like Activision and ESRB, because I wanted to keep the poster as simple as possible, so only Id logo is on there.

Disclaimer: Although I have tried hard to make these as high res and high quality as I could, keep in mind, that the assets, that were used in making of this poster back in early 2000s, had their limits, which you can see on the polygon counts of the Hell Knight model and resolution of the textures. Not much I can do with that.
