The spider mastermind origins

I was watching some old sci-fi with some family and we where watching invaders from mars, and I saw the head alien looks exactly like the mastermind in doom! (without the stilts) I thought sharing this could help with high-res texture set, memes and spreading the information, among other things. I wasn't sure if this was common knowledge or not sorry if I am regurgitating information :)
