My Doom Mapping Journal

In order to track my progress in mapping I thought to have a digital journal or diary where I can have everything in one place, and update it with new entries as I go along in the development of my personal Doom mapping journey.

Feel into you the waves of aeons past as you stand at the shore under a clear heaven in the depths of an ancient night.

Follow the footsteps at the shore, the whispers of the beloved leading towards the ruins above, and find us into yourself as you raise your palms without fright.

So, uhm... I see you're just casually dropping some of the most drop dead gorgeous Doom screenshots I've ever seen. Intriguing! I suppose a project announcement is on the horizon? Because this is way, way, way too good.

Thank you for the kind words and interest!

 

I'd still like to refine myself a bit more in this regard before attempting a public release.

Those basically began as attempts to establish some (quite) personal ideas where I learned all the fine things about mapping on the go aswell basically.

 

I just wanted to know if it was even possible for me to make in Doom what I had in my mind. And it gave me a newfound respect and love for the game after seeing these ideas slowly but surely come to life. Now I'm feeling much more confident that anything is possible with this game, haha.

A map for Doom 2 using Doom 3 textures, yeah. (which makes me feel like I'm mapping for Doom 3 in a sence).

 

A side project, more or less.

It is really very hard for me to believe it is a Doom 2 map from what I saw from the screenshots. I really thought it is a Doom 3 map, something like the scene from Monorail level or like this! Just amazing! Keep up the good works.
