I've updated the OG post with the latest playtest.
I will be redoing some of my reviews on some maps as i found the latest versions THEN i'll start the compiling process, it'll take a while but i hope during that time Pegleg and Max's maps come through.

apologies for the wait, but MAP14 is pretty much done.

MAP NAME: Bloodyard
MAPNO: 14
MUSIC: Black Inferno - James "Jimmy" Paddock from Overload
TEXTURES USED: Vanilla DM2, 32-in-24
Additional Notes: Ngl this was a lot harder than i thought, could've used the space a lot better but i like the outcome.

Great map!
It looks really good and I really like the combat. (Especially the final fight).

I do think the archvile is really annoying if you have not grabbed the SSG yet when it appears (Like me)

Out of curiosity, can maps still be submitted to this project? The rules say there will only be 33 maps, but the project tracker says Open Submissions. Which one is correct? Any clarification would be helpful, thanks.

Hello all, been while i'd say but as it's december time to do my monthly check up well.. i would if there was anything to check up! except 1 thing.
The wad is essentially done, i just need to add in the custom textures and music and the final maps. It should be out by next year!
And i've decided to skip out on re-reviewing certain maps, i don't have the time.
@Pegleg how are you progressing with your map, i kinda need to know so everything can be completed in a timely manner.

As for my reviews for maps i missed out on e.g. MAP07 and MAP14 they'll come when everything on my end is complete.
Once everything on my end is done i'll let you all know here, and we can begin a beta of sorts then move onto RC1.
Thanks for the support on this Community Project, i have another in mind so when that day comes i'm sure you'll see it.

I haven't had as much time to map these past few weeks as I thought I would, so the map isn't done, but I plan to finish my map in the next couple weeks. Looking at the map list, I realize that mine is the last map you're waiting on, so I will make every effort not to dawdle.

I am planning on releasing the updated map 19 soon but I felt really demotivated by the builder crashing and me losing my progress.

Right then i can safely say now, that without a shadow of a doubt.
1K1K IS SO CLOSE TO BEING DONE! (like 95%) all textures have been added without issue, just need to do skies that'll be done with UMAPINFO simultaneously as it'll make my life so much easier.
I just need to finish the title art and add UMAPINFO.
And as for the "story" i think people will get a kick out of it.

I'm just waiting on map23 of course, and Raith get that map19 update done soon. The deadline is in 3 weeks.

Welp December 31st is here.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate it.
First off the Wad will be out within January. I'm not delaying it beyond that and a separate post will be made for Launch.
Submissions are closed now and any changes you wanted to make should've been made and released before now.
@Pegleg Your map is the very last thing that needs to be sent so i can get the wad out, whether life got in the way or simply other projects took priority, that's whatever. Just get a finished version in my hands by the 7th.

Thank you all for your co-operation yet again and i'll see you all when this releases.
[P.S. If map23 isn't done by the 7th then the wad will launch with a placeholder until that map23 is sent to me.]

Thank you for being understanding. I am sorry for the delay, especially since I'm the last piece of the puzzle; given that, some project leads would have just kicked me out of the project by now. With family and work commitments, I was unable to work on the map to finish the last 10% until yesterday. Regardless, here it is.

 

Map name: The Crossing
Map number: 23

Music used: "Gut Knot" by Petter "Thyrbse" Mårtensen

Custom textures: None (stock textures only)

 

Additional notes: Ammo is designed to be fairly tight from pistol start, which may cause problems if you're trying to max the map while playing continuously and you come into the map without much ammo. Also, the playable space (i.e., the space the player can reach) fits within the original 1000 x 1000 window.

Add map size note and changed song title from "Gutknot" to "Gut Knot" (the correct title according to the author).

Don't know if I will finish today but I am super to close to being done. I have a few finishing touches and difficulties left. Otherwise I may need to do some slade work but I don't know how to remove unnecessary textures without it taking 2 hours.

Made an account just to say what a great WAD this is.

No map that goes above 50 monsters (so far) as it should be, not a lot of demon spamming (as it should be), clever puzzles that aren't impossible to solve.

In short: all the sins 99% of DOOM mappers today commit are not in this WAD which makes it a great WAD. 8/10 so far and I'm halfway.

dont my just stopping by on my travels

 

this map by @Blue Phoenix is maybe one of the best uses of the 1024x1024 limitation I have ever seen, the elevation use to progress and that tightwire archvile fight was amazing - really good piece of work kudos
