Big Mac Davis

He's funny guy. Little bit overacting in his videos, but overall the content is great.

I love Big Mac Davis

Thanks, though I feel I should raise the caveat that my focus is on honest first/blind reactions to maps. Worrying about the niceties of video production is not. Don't watch if you're going to be upset by me blundering about in the maps, or my breathing being too loud in a video, etcetera.

I play Doom maps and happen to record myself doing it. I am not a video editor.

I really like Vytaan, too - his relaxed and sort of down-to-earth (for the lack of a better word) style really sits well with me. So much so that I almost wait for his videos the most nowadays (or at least as much as his fellow countryman's videos).

100% agree with you. He’s really funny too, I don’t feel a kind of exclusive barrier when watching despite how well his channel is growing; he’s very good at inviting you into the action. I jump right into watching his stuff as soon as I can!

I might throw my hat in the proverbial ring, having schlepped out a few vids focusing on awesome community peeps who are doing amazing work:

@Clippy - super Canadian

@thelamp - another super Canadian

@BeefGee - keyboard extraordinaire

@mancubian_candidate - silent but deadly

@Savvyjones10 - bubbly and really fun

@Spectere - so many great vids

@LadyMistDragon - HUGELY prolific

@koren - really chill dude

and many more!

I haven't had as much time to watch the Doomtubes lately as I'd like, but here's a few:

@Vytaan - Awesome dude, and he's pretty good at the Dooms I guess. :)

ThatNukemGuy - Nice variety of content, with a lot of their recent videos covering differences between various  Doom versions.

@EduardoAndFriends - Nice mix of gameplay and humorous content. Needs more subs!

@BeefGee - Entertaining and occasionally informing content. Blessed keyboard enjoyer.

@Spectere 100%, and not just cause I'm biased (aside from having a reason to discover them in the first place). From a great upload schedule and perfect thumbnails, to thoughtful playthroughs and commentary, paying attention to all kinds of aspect of level design, from aesthetics to technical gimmicks, and giving the viewer all sorts of useful context.

There's so many good content creators out there and I wish I had the time to watch them all. I most often look at:

@Spectere - Great content (and guy) all around with a lot of variety on his channel. Playthroughs, showcases, even non-Doom stuff!

@EduardoAndFriends - Very underrated when looking at the sub count. His playthroughs are exciting and his commentary is funny, plus he does other projects like WAD trailers from time to time.

@BeefGee - Perhaps not as underrated with over 3k subs, but the awesome keyboard-only runs deserve a mention :D I haven't been watching his latest SoD videos cause I wanted to keep the wad blind, but now that decino's been uploading it as well I'll probably just give in and watch both of them.

If you're less into commentary:
@mancubian_candidate - Uploads great gameplay daily (and sometimes even more than once a day!). Very skilled, considering he plays wads like Overboard and AA with fast monsters.

Thanks for the mentions everyone! <3

I'll go first, my favorite is ThatNukemGuy, he only has like 800 subscribers but his videos are great.

I watched before and now subbed. He's definitely underrated. Poor guy isn't even monetized yet.

My 2 cents: the person/people behind the YT channel Doom Wads:

https://youtube.com/@doomwads?feature=shared

I do realize that it's a bit of an unorthodox vote since the content is not focused on playthroughs but on presenting new releases from the community every week, a sort of 'Doom News'. While I absolutely acknowledge how important playthrough channels are, I think this kind of content is also crucial for keeping the community alive and making it grow. And it takes a lot of work and dedication.

It does have a 4-figure subscriber count, but I would argue that its underrated nature comes from the way in which we sometimes tend to tunnel vision on playthroughs and ignore everything else (mapping tutorials, modding tutorials, curating and presenting updates, Doom lore and history, interviews with creators like on Nirvana's channel, and so on). They're all connected for me.

Thank you so much @EduardoAndFriends @Spectere @Vytaan and @TheSlipgateStudios for the kind words!

It's starting to look like some planned love-in at this point (lol) but I consider myself a Doomtube fan first and foremost, and I genuinely watch and enjoy all of @EduardoAndFriends @Spectere and @Vytaan 's videos. I highly recommend them all!

There's something a little different on each of their channels which will cater to any Doom nerd.

Plus, they've all done impressive keyboard only runs at various points (e.g. Dimensions, God Machine, playing on Nightmare skill) so my fancies have definitely been tickled ;)

Everytime I see one of these topics pop up I have to give props to @Suitepee , he streams on twitch and uploads to YT but he's very entertaining.

Guy basically plays all the notable fanmade DOOM wads in order of their release dates (as well as some other 90's FPS games that are somewhat related to DOOM).

I think that @Doomkid might especially get a real kick out of this guys videos.

I'm really happy you linked this guy. I like his style, laid back, funny at times, riffs along with his mate(s), reminds me of the late 2000s early lets-play days. So much content aswell! A real mega project!

I can't really think of anyone that hasn't been mentioned yet other than @Nirvana, his interview series was such a valuable asset to the community and it was great hearing from big 90s names like Sandy Petersen, Dario Casali and American McGee, aswell as a host of big doomtubers and contemporary mappers. Nirvana himself's a great interviewer and always asks a good mix of questions, not interrupting the guest etc. I really miss that series. His new WDIGF podcast is cool though.

While I was looking for alternative strats for Sunlust maps I found some of Jacek Bourne's videos. He's played some hard WADs like Stardate and SWTW. And he likes to change the colors for some reason. His commentary is a bit robotic, but that's kinda adorable in a way.

Also David Asaad's channel because skill. But he hasn't uploaded anything in a while.

Hey, looks like someone is finally doing a complete and commentated UV-Max playthrough of Fractured Worlds. decino doesn't want to because he is afraid of the difficulty.

Good luck with the secret maps! :D

Recently stumbled across TreuloseTomate who posted videos of their Sunlust playthrough that was a fun watch. I found the channel right after MAP28 went up so it was an exciting couple of uploads

Thanks, but my channel is really just a dumping ground for random games stuff. Not sure if there are going to be any more Doom playthroughs. Maybe when NERF3 is out. :o

Both don't need introduction here, but since we're talking about underrated youtubers, we can all agree they deserve much more attention on that platform.

Just now seeing this but thank you for the mention :) My channel is pretty casual and I kind of suck at harder Doom content but I love showcasing interesting maps and taking in the sights and hope that folks get some enjoyment from that aspect.

Gunna second LVENdead. I watch just about everything he uploads. In the morning while drinking coffee I find his voice helps things happen just that much smoother on the toilet.

I think I'll start calling him #2, not because he is shit but because he is THE shit  😝

Idk if it counts as an underrated youtuber knowing that  doomkid it's basically like a star in the doom community, but anyway, Chubzdoomer taught me everything i know about ACS script, and the fact that he has been in YT for more than a decade, it's still active, and hasn't surpassed the 20k subscribers just makes me sad. Go watch him, he deserves it
