Here's my submission! It supports co-op and its basically a repurposed version of a map I made in 2021.

 

Title: Gazebo 23
Artist/Author: CBM

Music and Author: pending, need suggestions, default for now

Sky: blue sky texture made by me

Mapping format: Doom 2/limit-removing (tested in GZdoom)

Estimated playtime: 4 minutes

Notes/Comments: As you are out hunting and sawing down trees you see this small area of the forest that has a gazebo, a hunting lodge, a hunting tower and some small hills ... turns out to be crawling with baddies...

I made an update to the map since the version I just posted, it has a blueish sky texture I made myself... still needs music so when music is found then I could post an update... still need help finding music

 

edit, decided to update my above post with what I have so far... added real forest like edge to map plus plenty stand alone trees.. more baddies, more ammo, more health, more cover

Hi there! Beautiful map, though I'm sorry if I'm stupid but the Shotgun and Beserk/Chainsaw slot was reserved by @Amiga Angel, or are you the same person lol?

oh sorry.. I wanted to reserve a slot and thought shotgun and chainsaw was available, do you have any other slot I could use instead

Either way if you're not, they haven't said anything in a while so I don't know if they're still working on a map...

I just talked to Amiga Angel on discord and he gave me permission to take the map slot if I want it and if its ok with you, because he wont have time to make a map. Is that ok?

Btw @CBM, a song I'd recommend would be "Today Is A-OK" by Mtpain27. It's from a free-to-use playlist they made, and I believe the song would fit perfect for your map :D

You can find it on MtPain27's channel on youtube (Search "Today Is A-OK Mtpain27" and it should show up, he has a link to the download in the description i believe)

Hi.

 

Sure I can take the last slot. I have something that might fit the BFG + Plasmagun slot after some reworking. I just couldnt come up with something that would fit shotgun + chainsaw they way I wanted and I managed to free up some more time for mapping.

I love the map CBM made for the shotgun + chainsaw slot btw.

I want to put the song in first. But how many of the maps are UDMF? The ones I have downloaded are all limit removing from what I have seen, thats why I made mine limit removing as well.

Okk.

As of now, some are UDMF, some are not, but since UDMF is one of the more modern formats, it's not particularly hard to change older formats to UDMF... (Though I must admit, map formats are still beyond my feeble mind's comprehension)

But as long as the map runs on limit removing GZdoom, it should be fine :)

I must use default textures but
what about custom monsters and other custom stuff? just doom 2 stuff right?

Notes/Comments: Challenging but short Tyson-ish map with chaingun for utility. As an additional challenge when making the map i limited myself to mostly sticking to Zimmer textures/palette since i noticed myself underusing them. Difficulty settings fully implemented.

Notes:

the map uses a set of spawn scripts borrowed from trick and tear the living dead but modified by me to fit this map, all credits can be found inside the script

 

You may want to download files from mediafire quickly because they tend to be really quick to delete them again

I can take a second map slot if you need it... I have been working on a UDMF map that uses vanilla resources to test the viability of sector based trains in doom and I was planning on making it a short but complete map anyway
