Hi, I'm making a doom mod where the monsters and player sprite are replaced with 3d models.

I know its possible, but I cannot find any tutorials anywhere on this.

Does anyone here have know how, or have any tutorials for this?

You assign animation frames to animation frames in model throught modeldef.

For example:

Gene-Tech: Before the Storm

Monsters, weapons, decorations, etc done entirely with models

in particular see ZOO.wad

DeimosQ2TC

partial Q2 conversion

some tools you may need:

  • Utimate Doom Builder
  • Slade3
  • Blender
  • Misfit 3D editor
  • Noesis editor
  • graphics editor

Check ZDoom forum and Doomworld forum for tutorials in the Tutorial sections.

@ramon.dexter

I was thinking of instead of the doom wad having the regular monster and player sprites that they are fully 3d models that have animations. I saw a tutorial on how to import non animated props into gzdoom but I just don't know how to do the monster and player models.
