I have seen some pretty interesting poems about doom. Just to name a few from yt comments

 

Roses are red

Violets are blue

When I listen to doom music

My neighbors do too.

 

Blood is red

Demons are nocturnal

Halo may be infinite

But doom is eternal.

 

So why not create a topic where you can write your own poems or share some you found (give the best credit you can, the ones I put up are YouTube comment copypastas.) It will be cool to see what you came up with. (I might make a wad and feature some of your poems!)

In the year of 1993,
A game was born for all to see.
It promised violence, blood, and gore,
A new way to settle the score.

Doom was its name, and doom it brought,
A world of demons, death, and rot.
The player was a lone marine,
Against the hordes, he had to glean.

The screams of monsters filled the air,
Their presence left a scent of despair.
Each level posed a new challenge,
And each weapon brought a new advantage.

The graphics were crude by today's standards,
But back then, it was a feast for the brainiacs.
It was an experience like no other,
A game that would make blood boil and smother.

Doom was more than just a game,
It was a cultural phenomenon, a new claim to fame.
It spawned a legion of imitators,
But none could match the original creators.

So let us raise a glass to Doom 1993,
A game that brought us a new legacy.
Its influence will last forevermore,
And its name will forever be adored.

Another one from the same place

 

The world of Doom, so dark and grim,
Filled with creatures fierce and dim.
But amidst the chaos and doom,
There's a cute little creature that brightens the gloom.

The cacodemon, with its big round head,
Floating along, with a smile that's spread.
It may be a demon, but don't be deceived,
Its cuteness is something that many have received.

With its sparkling eyes and bouncy float,
It's hard not to find the cacodemon a gloat.
A creature so sweet, yet viciously strong,
Letting out a roar with a fire-breathing song.

Its presence in Doom is quite uplifting,
A little creature that keeps on zipping.
It may be cute, but it's not to be messed,
For it'll chomp on you, just like the rest.

So let us celebrate the cute cacodemons,
A little creature that's hard to reckon.
It may be a demon, but it's still a delight,
Floating around in Doom, with all its might.

No, 10 Line Genocide is a community project started by @NiGHTS108. It contained over 230 maps, but minus the last level each map used only 10 linedefs. This project was inspired by the 200 Line Massacre and 100 Line Massacre community projects. Also, I contributed maps E1M15 and E1M18 to the project.

Sorry, I meant to say community project. Since the wad is about doomworld, do you want to make a map referencing 10 Line Genocide?

No problem. I'm not really interested in making another 10-line only map at the moment. I'm currently helping out with the Box Doom community project to which I submitted 3 rooms. However, below I have attached all the maps that I submitted for 10 Line Genocide into one small convenient package. The third map in the package was not used in the community project because I built it after the deadline. Most maps in 10 Line Genocide were Triforces, slaughter maps or used Doom/Booms exploits/glitches. My third map used 2 of those tropes. The music included is just shortened versions of Doom 2 music just renamed to Hexen file names. This is to ensure that they work in ZDoom ports and not override their original longer versions. There are also screenshots in the archive too.

I'll take the unused one. Got any more poetry though? It doesn't have to rhyme, you could make it free verse. Example:

Killing demons

This is one I wanted to give to the og id team someday.. maybe in a hallmark card or something. 

 

Im a little cacodemon, round and stout.

Here is my eye and here is my mouth.

If you poke my other holes hear me shout,

"Those are holes i cant talk about!"
