Scottier681 Posted September 15, 2023 Are there any interviews/info about the connection with the "johns" (Carmac and Romero) as to there commitment and continuing interests in the doom world? I know Romero has wrote a book, but I hardly see anything from Carmac except small interviews discussing the "early days" of ID, firing of Romero, and the various engines he was always working on. Is he keeping up with doom either past work or anything currently? Carmac has said he doesn't focus much on past work just on present and future things whereas Romero seems to discuss much about the past and some current doom related stuff. Does Carmac have any connections with the doom world any more? Just wondering if any knows of his current concerns/interest with doom if at all. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Besides answering the same questions (politely and enthusiastically no less) about the game wherever he goes, Carmack hasn't had much to do with Doom or the community in a very long time. He did make an account here in 2009, but hasn't used it since then after only posting 5 times. The only really significant thing that recently happened in relation to the community is when a bunch of Doomworlders got to meet him at QuakeCon earlier this year, which was pretty cool since it was the first time he had attended the convention in about 20 years. But other than that, he's not nearly as invested in the community as Romero has been. 5 Quote Share this post Link to post
