Problem while recording demos

Please help. When I record a demo in DSDA-Doom (version 0.24.3), my mouse feels all choppy and weird. It's not only distracting, but it looks suspicious as well. How do I fix this?

If you're referring to how turning is restricted to noticeably large increments, it's supposed to be like that. This is a limitation of the original demo format. There's a video demonstration of what I'm talking about here, check whether that's what you're experiencing. It feels weird to the uninitiated, but it's actually useful for performing certain tricks, such as guides and zero presses (as explained in the video I linked).

I don't know if that's truly the case, but I suspect, that is because -shorttics is enabled. It was used back in the day, where you didn't have alot of computer storage. It was used for more compact demo recording, so the demo file size would be smaller.

Yup, that looks about right. Is this needed to submit a valid demo?

Yes, unless you're playing an MBF21 (-complevel 21) WAD, in which case you can use the -longtics parameter.

I see. Thank you for clearing this up.
