WAD starts like DOOM2

Hello everyone,
I have to ask some basic questions.

Use GZ DOOM 4.10

I downloaded this file "WAD"
https://tinyurl.com/3v4yzn8z

They started and it plays like normal DOOM 2, but not
like in the video here

The weapons and all the other rest are not there.

What is wrong or what am I doing wrong?

Best regards

Because the wad is just a collection of maps, none of the content you are expecting exists in it. The user who recorded this video is loading other mods.

Yup, clearly says Brutal Doom in the video.

I already have all of that, I've played Brutal Doom several times, Project Brutallity too and other mods, but when I start the "WAD" maps, only the standard Doom is played.

You can load more than one WAD at a time.

Wait, somehow I don't understand this.

The files that I open are .pk3 "zip" OK, I understand that, but the individual WAD files are something different? That's just the LEVEL, how do the other weapons and monsters get in there?
How does a WAD work with BRUTAL DOOM?

Because when I load the WAD in ZDOOM, I have the standard game.....

Wads and PK3s are files that contain many things. They can be graphical mods, sounds, monster sprites, textures, mapsets, among many other things. You have to know what files you arew downloading. To get started, just downloiad brutal doom, get your doom2 iwad, select both files and drag and drop them to GZDoom.exe. It should load the gaem + the mod. When you learn how to do that you cna use more advanced methods of loading files like ZDL, DoomLauncher or DoomRunner.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying, but in case you're extracting the PK3 files like they're zips, don't do that. PK3 and WAD files are effectively the same thing to GZDoom, they're just different ways of packaging mods (you'll see some people distinguish between "mods" that contain gameplay changes and "WADs" that contain only maps, but ignore that, they're all loaded the same way).

If you have a PK3 file that contains Brutal Doom, and a WAD file that contains maps, you don't need to modify either to play Brutal Doom with the maps. What you want to do is load both in GZDoom, so what you get is "Doom II + Brutal Doom + Maps of Chaos." When you do that, the WAD with the maps will override the stock Doom II maps, and Brutal Doom will load its gameplay modifications (replacing enemies, weapons, etc.).

The simplest way to load both of those together would be to select both in Windows Explorer and drag them to gzdoom.exe. There are ways to manage this better (useful if you have lots of files spread out across different folders, or need to enforce a certain order of loading the mods), and I personally use ZDL, but you can worry about that later.

Hello,
OK, I think I understand it so far, here is a screen from GZDOOM.

you write: You just have to load both into GZDoom so that you get "Doom II + Brutal Doom + Maps of Chaos".

hmm how do I do that?

Select both the brutal doom file and the file containing the maps. You can do this by holding the crtl key and left clicking the mouse on both. Then, hold down the left button while hovering one of the two files you just selected. Drag your mouse over the gzdoom.exe, and let go of left mouse button. The same pop-up you see here will appear. Make sure doom 2 is selected, click the play game button, and it will launch the game . Upon starting a new game the mods should be active.

Ah ^^ now it works if you pull both in, but it's not a clean job. Do you think the ZDL is responsible for displaying all maps and mods clearly?

and egg? thanksoooo THX
