Which monster do you think looks the best/scariest?

To me it's always been the Archvile. He looks pretty different from all the others, almost looking more like an undead alien more than a full-on demon. Second best would probably the Baron and its intimidating presence. Wanted to know what y'all think.

I've always liked the Spider Mastermind. The first time I encountered him, was in Doom's E3M8: "Dis", so when I saw him, I was so taken away by his unnatural precence and his horrid wake-up sound, I initially just froze right at the spot, and so, he ripped me to shreds with his chaingun! People might say nowadays, that the Spider Mastermind is an dissapointing final boss, but for the pure shock factor, the Spider Mastermind always gets my vote over the Cyberdemon any day of the week.

The best looking is probably the arachnotron (although I would also say it looks quite cute) but the scariest is probably the cyberdemon, the combination of normal demon and cybernetics, as well as its height makes it look more threatening than the rest of the demons imo

I think they all look sound in their own way but the scariest-looking, if speaking from my earliest times playing this game as an easily impressionable former child, were the mancubus, the spider mastermind and the pain elemental, most definitely abhorred these three ones.

Pain Elemental is the most "frightening" in Doom sense. Baron is one of the coolest designs.

For me, it's Cyberdemon!

Its the Cyberdemon because he torture-chambers the Barons of Hell in his level. You can see their corpses on the wall and you can hear him outside walking around. Hes the only Doom monster thats ever jumpscared me. Hes very large and imposing and that hesitation got me instant killed.

 

I gotta tell ya, it was perfect, perfect, everything, down to the last minute details.

If this applies to any Doom game, the trite from Doom 3 definitely looks the scariest. I always jump a bit when a trite hits me with a leap, those little shits are small but they definitely shake me up compared to anything else. Otherwise, the Dread Knight from D:E gets my pick for the coolest looking monster, with it's added armor and blades making the Hell Knight look more badass than it already does.
