Oweniyo Posted September 28, 2023 Hello, I would like to ask, if anyone knows what's the deal with the cage texture going through the floor and being on display...in the floor? Like this image before you. This was someone else's post, but it's the issue I'm currently dealing with. I fixed it with switching to different renderers, but I know I had it set on True Color SW Renderer and everything worked before, but now it seemed to change... Does anyone got any clue? Many thanks! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
RataUnderground Posted September 28, 2023 Yeah, that happens when the sector in which the texture is located has the same floor height as the adjacent sector. One way to fix it is to move the height of one of the sectors. Something like this. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Jayextee Posted September 28, 2023 If you don't want to change the height, changing the lighting level of one of the sectors the midgrate/bars is touching; even by an imperceptible '1'; should do it. 3 Quote Share this post Link to post

One way to fix it is to move the height of one of the sectors. Something like this. That is not the reason at all and it has nothing to be with the floor height of the sectors, at least not directly. The reason is because the bottom border of the texture goes below the floor of the sectors. One of the most common reasons why this happens is because the texture is taller than the headroom of any of the sectors, and since by default textures "stick" to the ceiling, then the texture bottom border goes under the floor. For example, the texture is 128 units height but any of the sectors is only 96 units height. There is a difference of 32 units, and since the texture sticks to the ceiling by default, these 32 units in excess simply go below the floor and producing that effect. In the screenshot of @Oweniyo, he is trying to use a 128 tall texture in very short sector. The large sector as well as the imps' sector have the same floor height, but the imp's sector is too short to accommodate the whole texture. To solve this you can use the method suggested by @Jayextee or you can also align or move up the texture so its bottom border is not below the floor anymore. Or, make both sectors as tall or taller than the texture. Edited September 29, 2023 by Scyon Clarification 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
NightRiding Doom Posted September 30, 2023 while the floor height is not the cause, changing floor height does also fix the bleeding issue. So do the other reccomendations above. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
