What does it take to become a Doomgod (in your opinion)?

Is there some clear cutoff point, like beating a particular map/WAD in a specfic way, or is it more based on intuition?

First you must master the art of the shinobi, the night owl and the crouching tiger.

 

Then you must climb the white mountain when (and only when) the giant blue moon appears at night. There you must pray and seclude yourself from sex and all lowly desires for 40 days. Then you must go about the land and find yourself a proper master or a mistress to guide, discipline and teach you all the rest.

 

The master or mistress must be of a particular type aswell (see below), otherwise you are doomed to definitely fail.

When you're playing classic doom, You need to comment stuff In Sweden accents and like you have a pumpkin Head, don't know why but when I do that, my reactions are calm, my flow of movement it's perfect and I know every inch of Doom tech.

You have to make something so novel with such a compelling amount of skill that no mortal can initiate you.

Doom is not Minecraft thus it has no endermen, so you don't have to wear pumpkin and speak Sweden to talk with nonexistent creatures

Looking at this question from a poetic point-of-view; and considering that divinity traditionally implies the capacity for creation (not universally, but it's a pretty common theme in literature)—I think all it takes to become a "DOOMGod" is making a WAD.

 

Truly, John Carmack is The-One-Above-All—in his infinite wisdom, he designed DOOM highly moddable, and thus granted godhood to us all!

And now he's also doing AGI work... really makes you think.

I mean personally I blind-pistolstart all my slaughtermaps on Nightmare 100S with coop monsters on Saveless Tyson Pacifist Realism Crab with shortticks on to help practice my wr speedrun on the second go around, but you do you

That's what i agree with, but if you want to become the greatest, follow the same rules, play with corruption cards hardest difficulty, play sunlust and quantum strike 99x9. I'd be impressed to see someone do all that. And don't forget okuplok, so far I think coincident is the king. If you are going to do this, good luck.

I just beat the hardest WADs I can on at least UV* (where exceptions may apply see: Not Even Remotely Fair), however I go about accomplishing it is up to me, whether it's no savegames or several, continuous or pistol start, regular or fast monsters, I will beat the WAD and experience what it has to offer, without giving up and without cheating.

The same way you become a Pokémon master. By catching all Doom mappers and wads in existence until none are left.

 

You won't catch me though, as I'm the ultra rare kind.
