This was fun and challenging, really liked how the later stages sort of have you return to previous areas. The difficulty is fair, and gradually gets more challenging from one level to the next, which is great. I found the secret dog with the Castlevania jewel case. The layouts are well done, never felt cramped nor did the layouts get confusing. The use of the Halloween style colors is nice, though I do wish the monsters had been colored different to fit this new theme as well. Couldn't tell if the "end" was meant to have an exit or if I was supposed to exit out myself.

Keeper of the Secrets - Beat the secret level with 100% Kills in 3 1/2 minutes or less

It's hard to say no to a challenge. I'll definitely play the rest soon.

 It's moderately challenging

Nobody laugh but its quite difficult for me😂
I got past level 1 but level 2 I'm low on ammo and no where to run.
Maybe playing with a mouse and better keyboard setup would help...

I like the orange, melting font, music  . Exciting theme for Halloween !

Question though. Can I jump? I assume that's what "limit removing" means here right?

You can if you want, but it's not designed for it at all 😛. Limit-removing means it would crash vanilla on dos (or at least I assume, I never tried it). Nothing to do with jumping

And I did. Wonderful orange combat puzzles that get a lot more elaborate and experimental in the second half, I particularly love Map08's BFG fight and Map09 as a whole, chunky orange caves are something that I didn't know I was missing.

On Map07 there's a couple of imps stuck together inside of one of the pillars that lowers when you're going up the stairs, it's Sector 131 when viewing in UDB. Of course, knowing you, this could be an intentional gag. :P

Full casual playthough on UV, -dsdademos, v0.26.2 for playback - tddrc1_maribo.zip

Im on map 6 so far. I realize Theres no way to kill all the monsters with just ammo for this wad. I rarely am put in situations like this where I have to figure out alternate ways to fight the demons and its really cool because it creates new situations.
Im loving this map!

Thank you so much everyone for the wonderful feedback (and demos!!). I've updated to rc3 (what about rc2?? Don't worry about that) and it should be finalized, so feel free to record demos and if anything breaks, it's probably on purpose (I hope). file date should be 10/04 10:01AM

If you play the hidden secret rc2 on halloween night it will open a portal to hell in your room irl when you beat the last map.

On a serious note i have added this to my to play list :)

I played the first 6 levels today. I'm pretty fascinated by its unorthodox and creative gameplay, combined with TN-style visuals. Because of the scarcity of resources every map feels like a boss fight, but they are short enough to not let the punchiness get frustrating. They're like little Plutonian etudes. I was a bit skeptical of the idea of excluding hitscanners (well, except the archies, whatever) but the limited monster roster actually works rather well in these kinds of intense and brief set pieces. Charming simplicity, unforgiving combat (on UV at least). Also makes good practice for a "make every shot count" philosophy.

hi everybody, the wad is finalized and on idgames. Thank you for playing and happy halloween.

You can follow speedrun demos here:

edit: oh yea, and I also created a Tool assisted speedrun (rewinds only, full speed) movie for the whole wad using only the fist and pistol:
