SealSpace Posted October 12, 2023 As a sequel or a companion/sister thread to my other one with C7... as BS is about practically the only other FPS game in existence that I love just as much as C7 if not moreso. I want to ask if there are any Blake Stone themed Doom wads or mods besides that one Blake Stone Doom TC someone attempted? Or outside of Samsara, if there are any Doom mods that allow you to play with Blake Stone weapons only? Or any that has Blake Stone enemies in them? What are list of Blake Stone Doom mods and wads that you guys know are currently in existence. Thanks. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalensar Posted October 13, 2023 This was one of the hits that looked most complete that I found on the hunt. http://www.doomwadstation.net/main/bstone.html 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

What distinguishes the two on a substantial and major level? Edited October 13, 2023 by SealSpace 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalensar Posted October 13, 2023 Less advanced than the BS Doom TC, and also limit removing compatible. Very buggy honestly. The Blake Stone Doom TC is also a buggy mess as well. It looks like it only has Episode 1 completed, and the interface doesnt work worth beans at least on the newest version of GZD. Both are playable but not to full capacity, at least under the minimal play testing I did on them so far. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Or by "episode", do you mean just one map? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kalensar Posted October 13, 2023 Episodes just like Doom and Wolfenstein. Blake Stone is a Wolf3D engine game, and follows the same type of lexicon. Inside of the main file it lists around 9 maps for play all in the First episode. All the other episodes just cause termination because the maps dont exist in the mod. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Guess there's just no feasible way to integrate the two secret/bonus levels for Blake Stone into a Doom I episode format? Edited October 13, 2023 by SealSpace 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
SealSpace Posted October 13, 2023 What the hell happens to those additional two secret/bonus levels? Or the teleporters to them in each episode? Does making two more additional episodes take a lot more work and effort? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Vermil Posted October 17, 2023 (edited) Back in the day, I didn't just make Corr7TC. I also worked on Dday TC's of Wolf3D, Blakestone, OBC and Catacomb that I never finished or released. Here is as far as I got with the Blakestone TC. it is for Doom2. Unlike Corr7TC this runs on a standard install of Dday (1.8.6, highly recommended). But note that while it is playable, it is far from finished. Also note that you have to set the sound quality to 11025khz in the control panel, to hear the sound effects or else you will just get static. You can also switch between AOG and Planet strike weapon and guard graphics by removing the two 'PS' deds from the PK3. You did Wolf3d, OBC, AND Catacomb as well? Damn...you on fire bruh. But I still don't know how to run Dday btw. I'm only a GZDoom (and Zandronum) user when it comes to Doom sourceports. And nobody answered my question as to what is done with Blake Stone's additional two secret/bonus levels in the Doom 1's episode limit of 9 maps each in Blake Stone TC. Vermil Posted October 20, 2023 (edited) One can also run the BlakestoneTC.pk3 on Corr7TC's files. Just remove and replace the Corr7TC pk3 or pk3's (if you downloaded the Corr7TC add-ons) with the Blakestone pk3 and run the Corr7TC bat file as you would for Corr7TC. Though remember that the Blakestone TC is incomplete. Also press spacebar twice quickly to close the intro when you start a new game, rather than esc as indicated by the graphics. I've also noticed that I originally uploaded the Blakestone TC pk3 as 'pk3.zip' and 'pk3.pk3' inside the zip. I have now corrected this. Sonikkumania Posted October 20, 2023 My TC had some modified elements from Blake Stone and other FPS titles, if you're interested. Shameless advertisement.] 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
SealSpace Posted October 22, 2023 (edited) Okay all the above is nice and good, but why has nobody still answered my question as to what is done with the additional two secret/bonus levels for Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold in the Doom I episode format of Blake Stone TC?
