Printing images of levels, normal paper vs glossy photo?

Recommended Posts

So I've got an inkjet printer here with plenty of ink, and if you don't print at least something every week, the heads get dirty and you have to perform a cleaning cycle that just wastes ink.  So I just figured, why not print doom maps (3d view, not top down etc).  But will they look better on glossy photo paper?  I mean we're talking about images, not photos.

Man gonna play doom on his printer, one frame per minute. Thats wild.

(I always liked mate paper more, but its subjective)

Here's a wacky, far out idea. It's really nuts i know but hear me out...

Print one of each type, look at them, and formulate your own opinion.

Buying all types of paper is a bit expensive.

Glossy definitely looks better. Normal thin flimsy paper is trashy. If you really need a matte look, then get thick matte photo paper.

My printer has come down with the "Heads out of alignment and nothing you can do about it" fever.  It's not that noticeable with doom maps, I'm just going to keep printing until I'm out of ink then never use it again (Head cleaning has used more ink than actual printing!) - you can't use glossy nor matte paper in a laser printer, can you?  I've had a color laser for 10 years and never even needed new toner.  It's also way cheaper than any color laser you can get today.

Not really. You presumably have regular paper. Basic photo paper isn't that expensive.

There is photo paper for inkjet, and photo paper for laser. They are different and you shouldn't mix them together.

The only paper type that can be used in both inkjet and laser is your regular normal flimsy paper.
