Is There A DOOM2 PWAD I Can Download?

I want to edit DOOM2 but slade wont let me since the file I have is currently an IWAD.

Do any of you know if there are any links like this?

If you have an IWAD, all you need to start making your own maps is a map editor. Ultimate Doom Builder is the current standard editor, and that should be free to download.

 

In Ultimate Doom builder, create a new map. There are a few map formats, but since you're just beginning, for now just pick a Doom: Doom 2 (Doom Format) and click the Add Resource button below the empty pane and select your Doom 2 IWAD as your base resource.  You're now in an empty PWAD file and can start editing.

 

Since you're new to editing, be sure to skim through these tutorials to understand the basics of editing.

 

 

If you just want any random PWAD so you can open up Slade's map editor, then pick something from the Wad Development and Release forum. But I think it's better to just use UDB and start fresh.

Don't do this. In addition to not being legal, it's also completely unnecessary. You already have Doom 2, there's no need to duplicate all the IWAD resources to create your own maps.

No. If you edit DOOM2.WAD directly, you can't legally distribute your modifications. What are you actually wanting to do?

If you copy paste everything in the doom2 iwad into a new wad i think u can edit it but as the comment above said dont distribute it.

Alternatively I think you can change Slade's settings to alter the Iwad but you'll want to be sure you preserve an unaltered copy.
