[UDMF] SNDINFO doubletrouble (Solved)

Hello everyone :)

I'm having trouble with the SNDINFO in my .pk3 file. It's as if every time I make a minute change to anything in the SNDINFO lump some custom sound stops working in-game. I'm using a multitude of ogg, raw and mp3 files. I'm not sure if one type is targetted over another. The way I format a custom sound goes like this:

Example.png.527c944b2922c917aadd6bba899f812a.png

Example2.png.8b6dd019255ff088b7cf05070422d373.png

Am I committing some kind of formatting sin or?

Oh yeah, sure you've got a mistake in sndinfo.

The definition should be as following:

weapons/assaultRifle/fire "sounds/weapons/assaultrifle/wpn_pistol22_fire_2d.wav"

Without the "=" in between.

But from the https://zdoom.org/wiki/SNDINFO that should be the "new" syntax, no?

And I'm not sure I follow. Could you use the glock to illustrate where I've gone wrong? Thanks for the reply though :)

Mea culpa. I was completely oblivious about the new syntax. My bad.

Buut, to solve your problem, you need to be little bit more specific. Which sound stopped working after you added which sound, etc.

Also, if you're using gzdoom, I've noticed problems with mp3. So far I've converted all my sounds to ogg, so you can try doing this, if you're using gzdoom.

No worries.

Oh and it turns out my problem wasn't the syntax or missing characters or anything like that. My problem was picking the right channel in the startsound command x)

Which problems have you noticed with mp3 though? :o And I'll keep your tip in mind, thanks!
