Conquered Complex - a small Limit-Removing speedmap made 3 hrs.

For some reason the WAD won't let me load my save file. Did you do that on purpose, Mr Gun? 🤔 It gives me this prompt when I try:

Weird, i didn't do anything for making such a strange error appear in GZDoom, although i didn't test it in that port so not sure what's going on there.

Incredible map... and it would be even if I didn't know it was made in just 3h! Also the lighting is superb, expecially in the RL hall

Hey, i've decided making a small map during my only day off on this week, 3 hour limit sounds pretty nice for me :^)

Idea poped up randomly, i was just hanging out in voice chat and after taking about bunch of stuff like mapping and speedmapping we wanted to make a small session with some speedmaps, no real rules - just do it quickly and dirty! This map made pretty much at the same time when we started the whole thing, not sure if it's should be a set or a megawad but i'm posting this bad boi anyway ;^)

Also, I did one small speedmap during my birthday but didn't post it much anywhere because wasn't planning doing it and i don't think i will now, at least this map will be out, so no worries mr. @Clippy :v

Might have a go of this and record a bit of walkthrough later. Looks like an interesting experiment.

detail looks pretty great for a speed map.

What program did you use to make this WAD? I can't seem to open it in the latest SLADE 3 release(3.2.4), as it gives me an invalid archive format error.

I also can't open this WAD in Crispy Doom 6.0.0, it doesn't seem to recognise it at all, no errors given.

The "C"s in the file name aren't a standard uppercase C, it's some other character. Renaming the wad fixes the errors.

That's a lot of imps! Imp-ressive. Details are great for 3 hours and it was pretty fun but I died. Lots of enemies, not much firepower or ammo. The RL earlier would be nice. Idk, something about hordes of imps and the pump action is kinda unfun to me.

Thank you for giving me something to play. :)

Man, if it wasn't for the no saves bug it would be amazing. I played it on GZDoom 4.10. I can't even start a new game, have to close and open the game again. It also gives me a completely weird sound bug in PrBoom+. Here's a video (I became a dead walking body in the end)

Wow, okay that worked. Thanks very much, Butcher. You're like Doom Community Batman, always swooping in to save the day when people least expect it. ;^)

Hm, that means that some code is not fully Unicode compatible.

Okay, i changed the name of the wad just to see if it will make any changes ( It did tho, Crispy started recognizing the name of the wad while saving it).

This "C" probably typed in russian for some reason so i guess that was causing all the problems.

Most definitely. I do not think that any port aside from GZDoom and maybe Helion has any sort of unicode support in their file handling, so Cyrillic characters will only work on Windows there if it is the local codepage.

I'll play a full playthrough later. My mouse input was buggy because of OBS, but now I discovered how to make it work.

It was the first map ever I had that used non-ASCII characters, so no surprise nobody noticed before... :)

Helion seems fine with the character, at least in Windows. Funny thing is we had kind of the opposite problem with a dehacked file having a character outside of the UTF8 range next to an integer that caused a parser failure.

Thanks for playing, yeah i guess you beat this map in completely different approach which is cool since i like discovering stuff that wasn't planned originally and that's the reason why i'm not mad :p

Plasma gun is quite a 'hard to find' secret since with it map will be much easier, i like how that secret was taunting you the whole playthrough, that was pretty funny for me :^)

Say hi to Sandwedge and Lamp from me o/
