Question to mods.

It was something of a "purge." I believe it applied to those who were already on thin ice and weren't planning on getting any better / improving their behavior. A zero tolerance policy's been more or less in effect since, which sounds scary but in actuality it just means blatantly toxic and unproductive shit won't survive long enough to see midday before being expunged.

I like to browse through old forum threads and see whats up.

Some are so old they date back to 2000!

Which makes sense because doomworld was founded on March 14th, 1998.

But still, Also some of these really old threads are still active.

The mods here are reasonable. I think they're a bit too strict when it comes to trolling/flame threads, which are fun to me, but I understand why others object to that sort of thing, and naturally you have the right to curate your own space.

I adminned for a few Doom clubs on Xbox Live. It's boring, thankless, and you start to really hate certain people. Lots of deleting/closing. I'm devoted to keeping a friendly environment, but when it came to console gamers? Children? Nu Doomers? Not my kind of people. Lots of really stupid questions and videos about their skillz.

I think the mods here do a good job. Reasonable and tolerant, and firm where it matters.

 

I do miss the entertainment from some of the chaos though haha, hence the old occasional trip to hell prior to being sealed off.
