Maribo Posted October 29, 2023 Let's Be Enemies is an MBF21-compatible miniwad, made very late into NaNoWADMo. These maps are an extension of the same philosophy found in I CANT GIVE YOU ANY THING, although I would describe these as being significantly less macroslaughter-inclined. HOMs, monocolor/minimalist textures, you get the deal. These were not intentional speedmaps, but I'd estimate that the longest base build time was about 3 hours, with the shortest being about an hour. Every map was tweaked pretty heavily after the base idea was complete. Inspirations come from things I love outside Doom, as per usual. These maps were made for and tested in DSDA-Doom v0.26.2 and v0.27.0, in software rendering mode. I would not suggest playing these in a hardware renderer, as the methods used to produce HOMs may cause them to appear completely see-through, rather than showing the intended hall of mirrors effect. There are no difficulty settings, though you are still welcome to IDDQD, IDCLIP, IDCLEVXX, and TNTEM as you wish. OverflowingMocha Posted October 29, 2023 That was a very interesting and fun experience for sure. I really liked the midi choices especially. This is also a reminder for me that I should play ICGYA at some point. Nice work! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ravendesk Posted October 29, 2023 Very neat, map 01 was by far the hardest. Having cramped fights where you can't see the arena, only feel, was very difficult. You start to manage it better overtime because you can feel/remember it, that was interesting. Loved the fog effect in 02 and absolutely loved the colour palette of 03. A nice touch that map 03 just brings you to the title screen. Here are fdas (0.26.2): lbe-fdas.zip 3 Quote Share this post Link to post
SleepyVelvet Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) Umm... Here's some non-FDAs: nv_lbe.zip I have a PUSS map due in a couple hours days, but my mind keeps going numb after I open the editor. So decided to make my mind go numb playing this instead. Edited October 30, 2023 by NoisyVelvet 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
