I always like settings that feature natural greenery or snow. As long as you pick the right sprites and textures, you can make some pretty convincing lush environments.

@Breezeep And a good PLAYPAL modification to go along with it as demonstrated in that shot, love that green.

I'm actually reminded of Shadow Warrior (1997) and its "ancient levels" (third and forth maps of the shareware episode and the first seven maps + first secret level of the registered set.) More like that please!

After trying to get back into Serious Sam (and failing) and being on an ancient religion kick on YouTube while at work, I've been wanting to see more pre-history inspired maps in Doom. I especially would like to see stuff that's set in Babylon and/or Sumer or at least has an aesthetic inspired by those lands.

Mmm totally! Makes me think of Clive Barker’s Jericho … not a popular game but I loved the idea of a location you revisit under different occupations going back through time including Sumer (I think).
